DEKE, Photo by Fernando Batista
Canon 5D Mark II, ISO 100, 135mm, 1/125 sec. f4.0

Deke is our historian and works in VC as a reenact or in vintage costume, entertaining the public on a regular basis. We have the privilege of having Deke fill us in our some Virginia City history and he will also pose for us with his vintage outfits and props.

DONNA,© Photo by Fernando Batista
Canon 5D MarkII, 70mm, ISO 1250, 1/40 sec. f3.2

Donna is a local resident and graphic designer when she is not dressing up in vintage costume and reenacting the good old days. This photoshoot took place in the Mackey Mansion and we had permission to step over some of the ropes and use the rooms for our backgrounds. Very special.

Our tour guide and poet, J Paul Horgan regaled us with his poetry on the patio after our mooring session. His style is very pedantic and entertaining. JP has quite a colorful history, including a stint on the Monterey Peninsula with our own Kalissa.

I have always had a fascination with graveyards and cemeteries ever since I was a young woman. The Silver Terrace Cemetery in Virginia City is full of art and old stories. This image was taken back in 2008 with an iPhone 4 as we walked through the cemetery reading markers and enjoying the day.

Our model, Donna, is looking for a widows vintage dress so she can pose for us in the graveyard as the grieving widow. Great idea from Donna. You will enjoy working with her.
